Adrian has an enduring love of the natural world and is passionate about conservation. He commits as much time as he can to voluntary work for various conservation bodies including the RSPB and British Trust for Ornithology. He has worked professionally for the National Trust and Deadwater Valley Trust.

Adrian is NPTC qualified holding CS30 (chainsaw maintenance & operation) and CS31 (small felling); he also holds the St. John's Ambulance certificate 'First Aid in The Workplace for Appointed Persons'

In addition he has attended courses on Phase 1 Habitat Surveying & Mapping (Moelyci Environmental Centre); Management Planning for Conservation (Moelyci Environmental Centre); Introduction to Dry-stone Walling (DSWA South-West Branch) and Bird Survey Techniques (BTO). In 2010 Adrian worked for the National Trust as a (seasonal) Species Protection Warden at the Long Nanny Tern Site in Northumberland and as a Countryside Ranger for the Deadwater Valley Trust in East Hampshire.
